Inn-Dispensable provides Personal Licence Training to both the public and corporate businesses. This comprehensive course covers everything about the Licensing Act 2003 and provides the certified certificate you require – so you can apply for your Personal Licence from your local council.
You require a Personal Licence:
- to sell or supply alcohol at a licensed premises.
- if you are the designated premises supervisor (DPS) at a licensed premises.
(A designated premises supervisor (DPS) is the person who has day-to-day responsibility for the running of the business.)
The Law currently states that anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol must hold a ‘Personal Licence’ issued by their local authority. It is a mandatory requirement that anyone requiring this must have gained an ‘Award for Personal Licence Holders’ (APLH) qualification before applying to sell alcohol.
Inn-Dispensable also provides a Personal Licence Application Service – submitting your application for a Personal Licence on your behalf.
Personal licences do not expire unless they are surrendered, suspended or revoked.
Inn-Dispensable is able to offer three different ways for you to obtain the Award for Personal Licence Holders qualification.
- By attending one of our 1-day courses at any one of our training centres around the UK
.
These are easily booked online, or by calling the office. The day concludes with the exam. - We can come to you and run the course privately.
If you have a number in your team who require training, we can send one of our tutors to you. Generally, we run these courses with a minimum of five people. - We offer an online Personal Licence course.
This course consists of seven modules, is interactive and engaging and can be completed at your own pace. This online course covers the syllabus of the level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH). The exam is online with remote invigilation, enabling you to sit the exam from the comfort of your own home or isolated workspace.
Once a person has obtained their Personal Licence, they are able to authorise others who they work with to sell alcohol on their behalf at their premises. For a Personal Licence Holder to authorise a team member to sell alcohol on their behalf, they must train that person to a suitable level.
We offer two e-learning courses for this purpose:
These courses demonstrate a suitable level of training has been achieved. The courses can be accessed online, anywhere, anytime, and on any device – laptop, mobile, tablet or desktop. There is unlimited access to the course modules, so knowledge may be refreshed.
Inn-Dispensable also offer a range of other courses for the retail industry.
